Have you been considering going ‘green’?  There are many ways to ‘go green’ these days, for example using reusable shopping bags when you buy groceries.  I have several of them myself and I love them.  They make taking up the groceries much less of a hassle as you can carry more in one bag, rather than having to tote up 30 plastic bags that always seem to have only one item in them.

Anyway, another way to ‘go green’ is to purchase a Bamboo Cutting Board.  Bamboo has a three year regeneration cycle, making bamboo a better choice than cutting down a hardwood tree that takes many years to grow again.  Bamboo cutting boards are lightweight, durable, naturally bacteria resistant, and very easy to maintain.

Red Chili Stew

15 February 2010

If you are looking for a delicious, warm, and hearty new one pot dinner to try, I have just the thing for you.  Red Chili Stew!  It is so simple, takes very little time to prepare and is absolutely delicious.  All you need is your choice of beef, what ever cut you prefer, I like the londonbroil. You could even use chicken or pork.  Take you meat and cube it if it isnt already, sear it with an onion.  Add potatoes, carrots or whatever you like in a stew, add your water until everything is covered.  Salt and 3-5 tablespoons of Chili Powder.  Simmer on your stove until your vegatables are done.  Enjoy with cornbread or fresh homemade tortillas.  Simple and yummy on a cold night, guaranteed to warm you up!
